Who we are and what we want: Our Operating Principles
The HFC website is the largest online wargame information resource in german. Our main aim is to write, collect and present all kinds of information about wargames and consims to the german speaking public and to promote the hobby in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There are lots of english websites on all kinds of topics related to wargaming, but there are only a few pages available in german. We try to fill this gap in order to help german speaking people who are interested in wargaming. By publishing this central information website we hope to assist them in gaining access to this interesting and great hobby. Our full operating principles can be found here.
About the english section
We apologize that we cannot offer you the full contents of the german section (due to a lack of time and human resources, for our main time-consuming work is to write articles and to give information in german), but we at least try to translate and publish a selection of interesting articles, AARs and stuff for you.
Don't be disappointed that our main focus is on the german-speaking public, but help us in promoting the hobby over here and in assisting german-speaking players who are struggling to get into this great hobby.
We will happily publish any articles, reviews, player aids or AARs you send to us (in english or german), and don't hesitate to participate in our forum as well! We will be glad for any opinions, discussions and interesting news from the english speaking wargaming community. We will publish your contributions in this english section and a translation in our german section as well! Help us to promote the hobby in this wargaming diaspora in order to make wargaming more popular over here and help us to fight against the prejudices connected to this hobby in Germany.
You could also link our website to your websites (our URL is: http://www.homefrontcenter.de), so that your visitors from german-speaking countries will be informed about this wargaming resource page where they can find help and assistance.

The Homefront Wargame Center (HFC) is a community of wargamers. We prefer historical scenarios such as World War II, but we also play Ancient Rome, feudal Japan or the Vietnam War and hypothetical, fantasy and science fiction wargames.
Insignia, medals, titels, ranks and symbols of allied and axis powers are both used in the same manner. All articles, reviews and comments on the historical background of a game and on a specific front are written for military historical purposes and for informational purpose only - without judging these or using them for propagandistic reasons (§86 and §86a german StGB).
People who entered this website by accident and who cannot stand wargaming because they get pricks of conscience, feel hurt by this or have moral problems with this type of hobby, can leave this website here immediately (Link to google.com). We don't force anybody to remain on our website.
If you enter our website, you have to accept that we don't spend our time and server space with permanent distancing ourselves from aspects related to the hobby, moral justifications or political comments. This website and its contents are addressed to wargamers and to people who want to become wargamers.
If you download texts and images from our website you are obliged to use them for informational purposes only. Propagandistic use (§86 and 86a StGB) is not permitted.

In our wargame career we collected different articles from the internet (even articles from unknown sources, especially in America), or from publications such as the General or The Wargamer. Some of this material was used, evaluated, collected, arranged and utilized for our articles or was the base for a deeper insight into the hobby. We think that we marked all used sources and quotations and referred to the authors - at least we tried to do so. If we missed to do so in some cases of if you get the impression that we stole stuff from a famous source and sold it as our own, then this wasn't intentional and not driven by evil thoughts.
In some cases the sources of certain information which we used as a base of our wargaming material collection simply wasn't known to us. If you discover material or quotations which was written by you or if anybody knows the source and we didn't include it in our article, just send us a short message. We will glady include the author's name and the source where an information was published in the first place, or even include a link. If the author demands that we eliminate such a quotation, we will do so immediatly. Nevertheless, the hobby would profit more if he allows us to use it and to include his name.
By utilizing (even unknown) articles, publications and material (mainly from american sources) on wargaming topics we didn't intend to get rich and famous or to claim the merit, but it was meant as a gift to the community - we wanted to collect and evaluate the contents of different articles and to make them known to the german public who suffers from a lack of information regarding all wargaming topics.
